I got home from work the other day and noticed that my tire was now a studded snow tire.

This morning we were making bread. The loaf on the top rack continued to rise to the point that it was pressing against the top of the oven. The pressure broke the baking stone it was baking on.

Giving the World the Finger

It has taken a little bit, but Ryan emailed me photos he took of Dave's finger. Since they are on the graphic side, we had to figure out a way to post them, but click into them. Thanks to the Wasatch Front Regional Council for the donation of 10 MB of web space. The photos are behind the links.

Edge of the frontier series

The next bunch of photos are what I am calling my "on the edge of the frontier series". When anyone ask where I live an I tell them west of Airport II, I always get the response "oh, you live way out there". As if I can only get here by horse and buggy (yea, right- I wish)!

But since we have an official government sanctioned "prairie parcel" in the neighborhood I guess it counts as wild lands. They say there are Burrowing Owls in the field, but I still as of yet haven't seen them. Oh well, whatever it takes to keep from having every last inch paved. Maybe I should consider getting a milk cow to complete the local ensemble. Perhaps a couple of those mini-beef s you see at the state fair, a goat, some sheep- but I draw the line at chickens. Smelly dumb animals. Someone else will have to do chickens.

The fox you see way out in the field had been behind a bush about three feet away from me when I took the previous picture. As soon as I released the shutter, he made his move. I saw him out of the corner of my eye but he quickly out manuvuered me before a could get a shot off. By the time I got to the dirt road he was way out in the field.

Finally!

Finally getting around to posting some shots I took with Ryan several months ago. What else am I going to do on a snowy holiday with a gimped up finger?! Most of the next 13 photos were taken with Ryan on a couple "urban safari shoots" we have done.

I was out on photo-safari with Ryan when he screeches the car to a stop and makes a quick U-turn. I didn't notice anything special when we drove by, so I figure Ryan must have smelled the brake lubricant as we passed. Anyway, he ends up talking to this guy for a few minutes which gave me a chance to snap a few shots.
