After the Storm

Nikon D40, Nikon 18-55mm, 1/250 sec, f8, ISO 200

September 29 brought the first snow to the Salt Lake valley. It was slushy rain/snow mix but it was still snow. While none of the snow remains, the backyard is still wet. I captured these water drops on the clothesline in the morning sun.

Picnic Anyone?

I photographed this in my driveway right after coming home from the bus one night. I was really intrigued by this as I passed by. Not so much that the cracker was covered in ants, but the fact that they were still there, and one of the boys hadn't found them and reduced them to crumpled exoskeletons and crumbs. Shortly after I captured this photo, the boys and the Kocherhans girls came to see what I was doing. It was a mad scramble... every ant for himself!
