Forgotten Past

Nikon D40, f/4.2, 1/250 sec, -0.3 exp bias, ISO-200, 60mm.
I took this just for Ryan. He is always interested in the "man-made". It struck me as an interesting statement about our nieghborhood. Back in the day this whole area was once dry farms where this kind of device would have been put to work daily. Now it has been relegated to the task of enhancing a sidewalk parking strip.
The other interesting thing to me is the whole strip was covered in strawberry plants and dandelions. It is unclear as to which will win the battle of permanent resident. I'm sure there is some kind of statement about the nieghborhood here.

The Poore House

Nikon D40, f/5.6, 1/200 sec, -0.3 exp bias, ISO-200, 85mm.
I was out riding my bike when I came across this house. I went zipping past before it even registered. I had a good laugh while making a u-turn and then took this picture. I think everyone is feeling this way a bit these days.

True Blue Experiment

Nikon D40, f/5.6, 1/800 sec, -0.3 exp bias, ISO-200, 155mm.
Mourning Doves are everywhere around Oquirrh Shadows. You will often hear them cooing in the early morning and evenings. I used a polarizer filter on this shot as an experiment. I've had the thing around for ages and never done anything with it. It seems to keep the sky from washing out in a haze of psuedo blue.
